Eid Toy Drive - Frequently Asked Questions
1. How will the hospitals know the toys are from Khairgiver?
The mailing address for each hospital, which you will be able to pick at checkout (usually shows up under your default address), is kept confidential for privacy purposes, but Khairgiver is noted in each mailing address so the hospitals will be able to tell.
2. Are these toys just for kids who celebrate Eid?
No - the toys are provided to these children's hospitals to be used for all their patients. Some of the hospitals (but not all) will be doing Eid day distributions and pass out a toy to each patient on Eid - which is a nice way for all those children to learn about Eid!
3. There are also gift lists for Heal Palestine and the Sudanese American Physician’s Association. Where exactly are these items going?
Heal Palestine has been working tirelessly to transfer injured and sick children from Palestine abroad for care that they cannot get locally because of Gaza’s collapsed medical system. The items from that gift list will be used for their upcoming first-ever HEAL SUMMER CAMP for the pediatric patients that they brought to the U.S. for treatment. The camp will be hosting around 80 children + family members from Gaza.
SAPA has been working closely with Elbuluk Pediatric Hospital to provide essential medical services to children in Sudan. Elbuluk is the sole pediatric hospital operating in the region and a lifeline for over a million people. The toys from that gift list will be given to patients at Elbuluk Pediatric Hospital - SAPA will send the toys with team members who will be dispatched there.
4. Is it ok if the toys get there after Eid?
Yes - we obviously would love for as many toys to be sent prior to Eid so the sooner you can donate the better! But if they arrive after Eid, it’s perfectly ok!
5. Can I donate to more than one hospital?
Yes! The more the merrier - there will be a count on the website of toys bought for each hospital that will be updated regularly. Most of the wishlists have around 400 toys, and most of the toys cost between $10-$30. If you can't decide which hospital to donate to, pick the ones with the least purchases.
6. Can we donate in a way other than purchasing off of the Amazon Wishlists?
Yes, there is a Donate button on our Donate page where you can make a tax deductible donation directly to Khairgiver - we can then use that money to purchase toys for you. If you purchase yourself off the wishlist, it will not be tax deductible.
7. Can we donate toys we have at home?
No. The hospitals have strict infection control policies that only allow for brand new toys to be donated. If you have brand new toys, we can try to let you know how to donate them after the Eid Toy Drive is over.
